IDEA’s holistic approach to high performance building design relies heavily on the shared vision of each member of the team. Our combined firm established at the turn of the century, has continued to evolve and grow, much like our team. Effective immediately, IDEA is celebrating the promotion of three team members to Principals within the firm. These individuals exhibit a holistic understanding of the integrated approach to building design and have invested a considerable period of their professional careers developing the skills required to master the delivery of complex projects.

Moving on from his role as Studio Director of Architecture – Ottawa, Dino will expand his reach across the firm to provide overall architectural design direction to the firm’s architects, intern architects as well as our technical staff. The firm has become accustomed to benefiting from his solid foundation of knowledge on the various codes and standards used in our daily practice due to his involvement in many of our more complicated projects. Dino has been with IDEA for 13 years, having previously worked in a variety of complimentary roles in the design and education industries. He is a graduate of Carleton University’s Azrieli School of Architecture and is fluent in English, French and Italian. Dino is a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and a LEED Accredited Professional.

Two years ago, Curtis took the next step in his development at IDEA and was appointed to Associate Architect. This was a newly adopted position for the Sault Ste. Marie office, which enabled Curtis to take on a greater level of responsibility and leadership in the firm. Curtis will continue to challenge himself, those around him, and his projects as he continues to be a driving force within the firm. Curtis has worked in our Sault Ste. Marie Studio for over 16 years which began with a university summer placement, while studying architecture. He is a Masters graduate of Carleton University’s Azrieli School of Architecture. Curtis is highly regarded by our clients as leading teams to provide practical design solutions quickly, in collaborative environments.

Over the past 13 years, Chris has proven to be an integral member of the IDEA team, serving as both an Architectural Technologist, Intern Architect and Project Manager. His expertise in design and building technology have proven to be a core asset to the firm. Clients find him to be an invaluable member of their project team. A graduate of Mohawk College’s Architectural Technology program, Chris worked in various industry positions before joining our firm as a technologist in 2009. After developing a passion for creative design, he returned to university in pursuit of a Masters Degree in Architecture. He is a graduate from Laurentian University’s McEwen School of Architecture.

IDEA’s dedicated and skilled team continues to be a pillar of the firm’s success. The remaining partners are delighted and fortunate to welcome each of the new partners as IDEA continues to build on its 110 year legacy.
