Jeanette is a Professional Consulting Engineer who has been trained extensively in building systems design. She supervises a team of highly technical Engineers and Technologists. With a broad range of engineering experience, including the design of institutional, commercial, recreational, industrial and residential systems, her strongest skills are in the areas of our Integrated Design Process facilitation, project management and system conceptual design. She is a LEED accredited professional who has participated in reviewing and providing input on various projects to help improve their energy efficiency and overall sustainability. Recently, Jeanette was awarded the Fellowship award from Engineers Canada for exceptional contributions to the profession of Engineering in Canada. 

Ryan has wide-ranging involvement in the Design and Construction Industries. He has worked extensively in the Commercial, Industrial and Residential construction industry as a tradesman and quantity surveyor; a combination which has provided him with the unique insight required to properly evaluate the QA process of construction documents and subsequently manage construction contracts. 

Ryan’s responsibilities encompass the entire range of services offered by our firm, from the proposal stage through project management, design, tendering, project administration and post construction. He has extensive experience working for both the private and public sectors. 

Moving on from his role as Studio Director of Architecture – Ottawa, Dino will expand his reach across the firm to provide overall architectural design direction to the firm’s architects, intern architects as well as our technical staff. The firm has become accustomed to benefiting from his solid foundation of knowledge on the various codes and standards used in our daily practice due to his involvement in many of our more complicated projects.

Dino has been with IDEA for 13 years, having previously worked in a variety of complimentary roles in the design and education industries. He is a graduate of Carleton University’s Azrieli School of Architecture and is fluent in English, French and Italian. Dino is a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and a LEED Accredited Professional.

Franco has over 25 years of experience as Principal Architect and Designer. His primary role is “Principal in Charge” of project development and design for a variety of the firm’s more complex architectural projects. Franco is primarily responsible for overall project scoping, programming, design, schedule control and cost management and retains expertise in Barrier-Free, Accessible Design. Franco takes personal interest in the early stages of project planning and has been responsible for feasibility studies and the development of strategic master plans on various local and international projects. Franco has in-depth experience project ranging from health care, institutional, educational, recreational, and residential. Also licensed in the state of Michigan, Franco has performed numerous projects in the USA and across Canada. 

Over the past 13 years, Chris has proven to be an integral member of the IDEA team, serving as both an Architectural Technologist, Intern Architect and Project Manager. His expansive expertise in both the design and technology streams of the profession have proven him to be a core asset and his clients find him to be an invaluable member of their project team.

A graduate of Mohawk College’s Architectural Technology program, Chris worked in various industry positions before joining our technologist team in 2009. After developing a passion for the design component of the profession, he returned to university in pursuit of a Masters Degree in Architecture to become a licensed practitioner. He subsequently graduated from the inaugural Masters of Architecture class at Laurentian University’s McEwen School of Architecture.
