Our innovative, integrated, approach to designing a modern, functioning work space for the Canada Green Building Council, was recently recognized by the Ottawa Business Journal as one of Ottawa’s Best Office Spaces. Your personal environment can impact your wellbeing in a multitude of ways, including mood, stress, behaviour, and overall health, so companies are continually looking to create welcoming, sustainable, relaxing spaces that employees can call their own.

Given their mandate, environmental responsibility and sustainable design were paramount for the Canada Green Building Council office space. While the building itself is one of Ottawa’s first Net Zero buildings, low-flow water fixtures, LED lighting, heating, cooling, and electrical upgrades were installed to achieve LEED Gold certification and WELL Platinum rating.

On the perimeter, the space boasts floor to ceiling windows, lending itself to an open, bright, environment, with plenty of natural light. The rooftop terrace provides unobstructed views of the Byward Market, Peace Tower, and Château Laurier, perfect for gatherings on sunny, summer evenings. It was a picturesque setting for our merger party back in JULY, when we celebrated incorporating COLE + Associates with IDEA Inc.

It is with that same spirit of integration – having design, engineering, and architecture all under one roof – that we were able to achieve this innovative, sustainable design, which we are proud to say is one of Ottawa’s best office spaces.
