Architectural Technologist
The ideal candidate has a diploma in architectural technology with relevant experience in the architectural field and a strong work ethic. We are seeking demonstrated experience in all phases of a project from planning/concept through construction administration. The role will be best filled by someone who is proficient in Revit with extensive technical and detailing skills, and is also client service oriented and able to take a lead role in quality control.
Great organizational and time management skills are essential to this role as well as strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to participate in presentations, attention to detail and problem solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in technology, specifically architectural field.
- Minimum of zero to one year of Canadian job experience in the field. Three to five years is an asset, five to 10 years is preferred.
- Excellent working knowledge of Revit and Microsoft Office 365, knowledge of AutoCAD is an asset.
- Ability to manage project tasks within assigned time and budget constraints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - fluency in English is essential, proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
- Positive and enthusiastic demeanour with a professional attitude.
- Able to obtain required government security clearance.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Perform site investigations/measure.
- Develop designs for building systems including drawings and specifications.
- Review codes and standards and obtain preliminary approvals where appropriate.
- Coordinate within the industry, other disciplines and clients.
- Perform contract administration and carry out shop drawing reviews, prepare site instructions and PCNs, review progress draws, etc.
- Perform construction site inspections and prepare field observation reports.
- Set up Revit drawings as per the company’s standard and prepare them based on sketches, mark-ups and/or design.
- Upon completion, verify Revit drawings against such sketches to ensure accuracy of work.
Architect
The ideal candidate is a licensed or intern architect with relevant experience in the field as well as a focus on unique and technically challenging projects. The successful candidate will be proficient in Revit with extensive technical and detailing skills, and be client service oriented. Great organizational and time management skills are essential to this role as well as strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to participate in presentations, attention to detail and problem solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required.
- Three years of experience or more.
- OAA or OAQ registration. Intern Architects close to registration will also be considered based on experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of Revit and Microsoft Office 365, knowledge of AutoCAD is an asset.
- Have a solid understanding of the NBC and OBC.
- Ability to manage project tasks within assigned time and budget constraints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - fluency in English is essential, proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
- Positive and enthusiastic demeanour with a professional attitude.
- Able to obtain required government security clearance.
Duties:
- Work with team in developing solutions to technical and design detail problems.
- Perform site investigations/measures.
- Develop designs for building systems including drawings and specifications.
- Maintain and adhere to project budgets and schedule.
- Prepare client presentations and present design concepts and drawings.
- Ensure that construction detail documentation conforms to QA/QC and Best Practice standards.
- Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
- Participate in professional development, reviews and “Lessons Learned” sessions.
Mechanical Engineer
The ideal candidate has relevant experience in the mechanical consulting engineering field with a focus on unique and technically challenging projects. The successful candidate will be proficient in Revit with extensive technical and detailing skills, and be client service oriented. Great organizational and time management skills are essential to this role as well as strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to participate in presentations, attention to detail and problem solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Is a licensed professional engineer with a minimum three years of experience.
- Possesses an understanding of quality standards relative to engineering design and planning; engineering fundamentals and principles.
- Possesses good communication, interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Is able to work both independently and as a team member and takes direction well.
- Is proficient with BIM and Revit platforms.
- Able to obtain required government security clearance.
- Bilingualism English and French (written and spoken) is considered an asset
Duties include:
- Perform fundamental engineering calculations and code reviews to determine loads and system requirements.
- Review and evaluate applicable systems types and design solutions appropriate for the application.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and provide input in throughout the design process to optimize the design to meet the client’s overall project objectives.
- Conduct site surveys and capture of building conditions, components and systems.
- Design and draft various building systems including but not limited to sprinkler, plumbing and drainage systems, hydronic hot and chilled water systems, HVAC systems including gas and refrigeration equipment and controls.
- Develop and update project specifications.
- Conduct site visits and inspections during construction to check for conformance with the design documentation, evaluate progress invoices, review contractor questions, witness commissioning of equipment.
