Our work on the Collins Bay Institution, the only remaining Chateau-style prison in Canada, involved repairs to the masonry stone outer walls and concrete walls surrounding the facility. This work received the Shotcrete Award of Excellence. We also performed services to add a new front entrance, replacing the existing entrance built in the 1960s. The design for the new front entrance responds more sensitively to the existing heritage façade. It also increases functionality of the space, provides improved visitor traffic flow into and out of the prison, and improves visibility and security for the guards.
