The J wing is also noted in the fair/poor category with an estimated FCI cost of $3M. This prospect created an opportunity for the Sault College to modernize key areas involving the Natural Environment Program, Information Communication Technology, Student Administrative Services and to create a new Industry Welcome Centre where collaboration and experiential learning are to take place. Overall building systems were improved or replaced to achieve better Energy Efficiency, Controllability and Comfort, Space efficiency, learning technologies, accessibility and wayfinding. This project was split into two bid packages utilizing a Stipulated Sum form of contract.
An adaptive re-use project which also introduces new additions.
