The project is unique as it translates northern laboratory building science and expertise to a tropical climate. Developed to serve as the Central Administrative Headquarters, the main laboratory facility is to be used for health and environmental testing in Kuala Lumpur. The concept is to be sufficiently flexible to allow for anticipated changes in technology, processes or imperatives without impeding, restricting or reducing efficiency of the laboratories. Sponsored by the World Bank, this project was won through an invited design competition of over 30 firms from the USA, the UK, Japan and Canada.
